About Dr. Ayham

Cambridge cannot afford a decorative Chancellor. In a time of rapid change and rising challenges, it needs clarity, courage, and conviction. If elected, I will lead from the front - with purpose and urgency.

This document outlines my priorities for the first 100 days as Chancellor, setting the tone for a new era of principled and proactive leadership.

My First 100 Days Action Plan as Chancellor.

1. Access and Equity

Brilliance belongs at Cambridge - regardless of background, postcode, or passport.

  • Support and expand the Next Generation Cambridge campaign.

  • Grow the Foundation Year and increase scholarships for:
    • Care leavers
    • First-generation students
    • Under-represented postgraduate communities

  • Champion fair access and widen participation at every level of the University.

2. Climate and Sustainability

Real climate leadership - not slogans.

  • Scale up the Student Societies Climate Fund to back student-led sustainability initiatives.

  • Advance a Green Investment Framework to ensure the University’s financial decisions align with its environmental responsibilities.

3. Innovation and Student Societies

Cambridge students are changemakers - let’s empower them.

  • Launch a Societies Innovation Fund to connect student-led ideas with:
    • Alumni expertise
    • Donor support
    • Global partnerships

  • Create space for student societies to act as engines of innovation, research, and impact.

4. Governance and Transparency

Replace distance with accountability. Replace silence with action.

  • Establish the Chancellor’s Accountability Forum - a standing assembly where students, staff, and leadership regularly review progress and policy.

  • Promote a governance culture rooted in transparency, participation, and results.

  • Dismantle unnecessary bureaucracy and foster a culture of openness and trust.

5. Inclusion That Matters

Not just diversity headlines - measurable, meaningful change.

  • Expand mentorship and career support for under-represented scholars.

  • Advocate for fair, inclusive hiring across the University.

  • Push for practical policies that embed inclusion in the lived experience of staff and students.

Vote for courage. Vote for change.

This is not a symbolic agenda. It is a promise of action. Under my leadership, the first 100 days will lay the foundation for a modern, inclusive, forward-facing Cambridge. Because Cambridge doesn’t just deserve better - it demands it.

I will stand up for Cambridge. I will stand up for you. Together, let’s build the next great chapter.
